Wooden pallets are essential components of the cargo handling system. A pallet is a wooden structure used to facilitate the easy transportation, prevent damage, and facilitate quick loading and unloading of cargo. Generally, businesses involved in bulk shipment and material handling are interested in pallets.
Pallets are not only used for cargo transportation but also for decorative purposes. They can be disassembled and reassembled to create various items such as coffee tables, benches, crates, planters, and for indoor and outdoor décor in gardens and landscape designs. Our coffee table, in particular, is a sturdy piece made from pallet boards that have carried heavy loads.
It sounds like a simple yet enjoyable project, despite being somewhat labor-intensive.

I started by removing the nails and cutting the scrap pallet pieces to the same size, then I smoothed them out and removed any splinters by sanding the tops. After sanding, I used a blowtorch to give the boards and wedges a burnt pattern, followed by another light sanding. I let them sit for 24 hours after applying wood protector. Then, I applied a single coat of paint and let it dry for another 24 hours. For assembly, I applied glue to the matching areas and then nailed them together. I attached the swivel casters to the wedges using wood screws (4 each). Finally, I applied a finishing touch by varnishing with a water-based varnish.
