Homemade St. John’s Wort Oil Recipe How to Make St. John’s Wort Oil? When is the Harvest Time for St. John’s Wort? What Oil is Used for St. John’s Wort?

What Color is St. John’s Wort Oil?

Hello friends, just a few days ago, I relieved the pain from a bee sting by applying a bit of St. John’s Wort oil immediately afterward.

St. John’s Wort oil can be used in many treatments, but be cautious of its potential allergic effects.

St. John’s Wort oil is a powerful antiviral and is used in the treatment of minor injuries, skin abrasions, burns, insect bites, bruises, and many other conditions.

I’d like to share my homemade recipe with you.

St. John’s Wort flowers can be found from May until September.

Depending on the seasonal temperatures and the geographic location, they may appear earlier or later.

Stage 1: Do not wash the St. John’s Wort flowers, as the unique dust on them will wash away. Separate the flowers from their thick stems and place them in a glass jar. (Since you won’t be washing the flowers, it’s recommended not to use flowers collected near roads due to possible contamination from exhaust fumes and dust.)

Stage 2: Place the flowers separated from their stems into glass jars and add pure olive oil if available. Cover the jar with a cheesecloth and secure it with a rubber band. Let it sit in a sunny spot for about a month, stirring occasionally.

Stage 3: After one month, open the cheesecloth. You will have a red-colored oil. Strain the oil and pour it into a glass bottle. Store it in a dark place with the lid closed. This way, the oil can be preserved for up to three years.

Note: The process is quite simple. While the flowers are yellow, the oil will turn red.

I have included the pictures in sequence, so you can follow them and make it yourself.

Take care, goodbye.
