Recipe for Vegetable-based Wet Cat Food (How to Make Homemade Wet Cat Food)

Would you like to make vegetable-based wet food for our beloved family members, our cats, at home? With a simple and easy recipe, we’ll prepare a very economical and healthy meal.

Ingredients:

– Half of a chicken breast (Skinless white meat)
– 1 large potato
– 4-5 fresh green beans
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon salt (4 grams)

 

Preparation:

– Peel the potato and cut it into 5-6 pieces, then boil it in boiling water for about 20 minutes.
– Without removing the potatoes from the boiling water, add the fresh green beans, cut into pieces, and boil for another 10 minutes.
– The boiling time may vary depending on the heat of your stove and the type of potato. To achieve the right consistency, check with a fork; if it easily pierces the potato, it’s cooked enough.
– Once the potatoes and fresh green beans are cooked, remove them from the heat and drain. Allow them to cool.

 

In a separate pot, place the chicken breasts in hot water and boil for about 25 minutes. Allow the boiled chicken pieces to cool, and set aside. Also, let the chicken broth from boiling the chicken cool down.

Note: The chicken breast broth will be fat-free; therefore, if you prefer, you can boil the chicken with its skin and then remove the skin afterward. Alternatively, you can add chicken bouillon to enhance the flavor of the broth.

 

We put all the cooled ingredients into the blender and blend until they reach a dough-like consistency. Then, we transfer the mixture from the blender into a clean bowl and mix it with the remaining chicken breast broth until it reaches a soft texture. Finally, to add flavor, we mix in a tablespoon of olive oil.

Our cat food is ready to serve. We can store it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days before serving it to our cat.
